The perfect pants, "timing with Stephen" and gratefulness!

Okay, so I know that I have an addiction to shopping, but in defense, I am a great bargain shopper! I'd rather have several trendy items that are on "sale" rather than 1 item that cost the same for several cute things. So on Thursday Caisen and I had a mommy and baby day and decided to go shopping, well Caisen didn't really have a choice and he probably didn't want to go shopping...but what the heck, we still had fun:). So, since I've lost all my baby weight and then some I've been on the hunt for the perfect pair of white pants. And not the business/suit type pants, or the typical ghetto white jeans...but just some nice white pants that you can dress up or dress down and not feel ackward in them. Well, for those of you who know me, I don't have much of a butt and I'm 5'6", so finding any pants is a problem for me. I always have to have my jeans in a long, not a regular and that pretty much excludes any sale on pants and jeans for me. Anyway, so I decided to go to Macy's because I know that they have a pretty good selection of pants. When I got to the store there were clearance signs everywhere! I was so excited, and being that I was in a hunting mood, I looked through racks and racks of clothes on sale. Lo and behold right in front of me I found my PERFECT white pants! When I went to the fitting room to try them on there were cute little white pockets on the back which is GREAT for me because they make me look like I actually have a butt. On top of that, I put my heels on and the length was absolutely perfect. They didn't touch the floor, but they're right above it. Anyway, so when I checked the price it said they were $18 on sale, originally $69 and when I went to check out the sales associate tells me they're $9.99!!!!! I was so excited and I couldn't wait to tell Stephen about my deal!

Later that night at like 9ish Stephen calls me after work (which he always does) to tell me he's on his way home and we normally talk the whole drive home for him anyway. So I ask how his day was and he vents to me about the client he's working at for now. Right after that I excitedly tell him that I got a good deal when I went shopping today. Immediately he was like, "what'd you buy this time?"...so I told him and while he wasn't happy at all about me shopping, he told me what he always tells me when I go shopping, "A deal isn't a deal if you don't NEED it." Which he's probably right about, expecially after we talked about budgeting, but I just couldn't pass this up. Anyway, so he tells me that he doesn't want to talk anymore and that he needs to let some steam off, so we hang up. I immediately felt horrible and worried because we always talk on the phone after he gets off of work. Anyway, he eventually calls me back a little while after and apologizes and tells me he was in a better mood. And when he finally saw my pants on me he liked them.

So to finish the other part of my blog title, "timing with Stephen"...I have come to realize how bad I am with timing. I should've known better than to tell him I went shopping right after he vented to me about his long day at work. I've come to understand how horrible I am about the right time to say things. For example, laughing at the wrong time. And in the realization that I have horrible timing, my train of thought immediately went to how GRATEFUL I am for Stephen. I mean, our fights or disagreements could be much worse. And we never fight really...I can probably count on 1 hand the number of times we've been upset with each other. But with that I have the most forgiving and tender hearted husband ever. He never EVER gets upset with me and he is the quickest person to apologize if my feelings are ever hurt...whether he hurts them or not, he'll apologize for someone elses unkindness. He is just soo good to me. And I am also so grateful for him working so hard to get a great education and a wonderful and secure job to provide for our family. I was looking through my hospital bills last night and it would cost us about 10 grand just to have Caisen without insurance. I am so grateful for him keeping us healthy and strong. And as silly, or vain, or selfish as this sounds, I am so grateful that I can have nice clothes and all my heels and all my jewelery and all my little wants. I love to feel good about myself and I am so grateful that everyday he reminds me of how beautiful he thinks I am and how wonderful of a mommy he thinks I am. It is such a blessing to me to feel so secure and confident with my husband and myself.

So ya, that's my story about my pants, our "fights" and my gratefulness. Funny how your train of thoughts can be so random and put so much into perspective at the same time.

I love you Stephen.

Time to catch up!

Okay…..it feels like so much has happened since I last posted on here. I feel like I have so much to tell everyone!

First of all, I owe a really really big I LOVE YOU to Stephen. This past week I booked a flight for Caisen and I to go to Washington to visit my very best friend AND to go to home to Hawaii for 2 weeks. We will be gone for 3 weeks total! I’m not sure how I’ll do because I am so close to Stephen and I can barely get through a day when Stephen is at work. The second he calls me the first thing I ask is, are you coming home yet? So, needless to say 3 weeks is going to be a long time for Caisen and I…I guess if we’re going to travel that far, I might as well make it worth it to be there for so long right? Anyway, I am super stoked to go see Kamaile and my family! big smile

Well, this past weekend Stephen and I went to Costco to get diaper and wipes (gotta love doing that huh!) and we finally put Caisen in the stoller without his carseat. Here is a picture of him sitting up like a big boy and he was so excited to sit that way! It was too cute. He’d reach for everything he could see and he kicked his legs up and down like a big boy. I was so excited to see him in his big boy seat finally, but at the same time, I’m going to keep him in his carseat as long as I can. He’s growing up way to fast…and it’s no joke when people tell you to take lots of pictures because they grow so fast!

After we left Costco and were going home Caisen fell asleep holding on to his toy hanging from his carseat. It was too cute. One minute we heard him playing with his toys and then the next minute it was silent. I looked over my shoulder at the mirror in front of his seat and lo and behold, he was knocked out…and still holding his toys.

Yesterday I was released from the Young Womens Program and called to the Primary as the CTR 4 teacher. I am really excited to be there…and as much as I will miss my girls in Young Womens, I know that I have a talent and gift to share with the Primary kids. I am excited and nervous to be there!

Here is a picture of Katherine and I out on our usual girl date! Mary watched Caisen while we went to dinner and we had such a great time as usual. She and I are so close…she reminds me of me when I was sixteen…only she’s much better than I was, and prettier too. I’m going to miss being with her in Young Womens.

Caisen LOVES to play with dad and here is a picture I caught of him smiling away at Stephen while he was making silly faces at him on the couch. Life has been so amusing since Caisen has been able to interact with us.

This past week was Caisen’s 4 month check up! He is in the 86% for his height and 50% for his weight and head circumference. He is headed to be like his parents, tall. He has been rolling onto his back from his tummy since he was 2 months old and now he rolls from back to his tummy. He’s so smart because he also knows how to use his legs as leverage to roll onto his tummy! He also skoots everywhere and is so eager to crawl! And I am not looking forward to that since it’s so easy to lay him in the living room while I cook dinner and know that nothing is being messed up around the house:)

After his doctor appointment we went to my brother’s chiropractic practice to get adjusted and while we were waiting to see him I gave Caisen a bottle. Here is a picture of him holding it all by himself. What a big boy!

Photobucket

Here is Caisen on our bed posing for the camera. He just had a bath and LOVES to be naked after he bathes, so I normally let him lay around naked for a few minutes before I dress him. I think he looks so cute and tan!

Lastly, here are pictures of Caisen on Easter. He had so much fun with his cousin Carleigh holding him.

Georgia

5 jobs I have had.....

What is your hubby's name? Stephen LeGrand "is my hottie" Futral :)

How long did you date? Less than 6 months...the typical mormon story

How old is he? 26 years young

Who eats more? I'm not sure...I surprisingly can eat a lot! That's the Hawaiian in me:)

Who is taller? Stephen, by a lot.

Who sings better? He does, I am a horrible singer!

Who is smarter? He's smarter at HIS things, and I'm smarter with MY things...like hair and make-up, lol.

Whose temper is worse? We both don't have tempers. If anything his may seem worse only because I hold it in...but he never gets mad at me, just frustrated and disappointed. If he's ever mad it's over silly things like stepping into a 5 gallon bucket of paint:) (I love you baby xoxo) And I rarely get mad at him...I never have to because he's very conscious of my feeling.

Who does the laundry? I DO, because I'm wayy to anal about seperating colors and about what goes in the dryer and what gets hung dry.

Who does the dishes? Um, I do because I'm home all day, but he's really good about it too.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Looking at our bed, I do.

Who pays the bills? He makes the money and I pay the bills:)

Who mows the lawn? He does because our yard is HUGE. I've only done it once...and it was only a small portion of the yard.

Who cooks dinner? I normally do, but when Stephen does it's way better.

Who drives when you are together? Stephen, THANKFULLY. I enjoy the passenger seat.

Who is more stubborn? It depends. We're really good at negotiating and compromising.

Who is the first to admit they are wrong? We are both really good at it, though Stephen will always make sure there is a bet going on before he proves me wrong.

Who's parents do you visit the most? His because mine are in Hawaii.

Who proposed? My sweet hubby.

Who has more friends? He does. This is his territory and he knows everyone...or more like, everyone knows him because he's a Futral.

Who has more siblings? He does.

Who wears the pants in the family? No one.

Caisen's FIRST Laughs!

So tonight Stephen started playing with Caisen and he was just laughing up a storm with him. It was soo cute! This is the VERY first time Caisen laughed without immediately crying afterwards...I am so glad I got it on video!!!
TOO CUTE!!!

Oh, and the music in the background is the TV...don't mind that:)

Are you kidding me!

So I put Caisen down for his nap the other day and when he woke up I went to his room to get him and this is how I found him!
Photobucket
Are you kidding me! I about freaked out. I guess it's time to take his monitor out of his crib and put it on his nightstand now. I'm so glad it wasn't worse. When I walked in to get him he looked right at me with a mischevious little smile like "oh crap, I just got caught", then he totally started smiling as if it were a joke to him. If he could talk he would have totally said "GOTCHA MOM!" I have to admit, it was pretty funny to see him smiling after I knew he was okay.

Hooray for daddy!

So again, Stephen had "bad news" for me...which was actually great! He doesn't have to go to work these next 2 days again!!! I'm so excited! Caisen and I love having daddy home.

Daddy's home today! YAY!

So yesterday Stephen called from work and told me that he had good news and bad news. The good news he told me was that he'd get to sleep in today for work because he doesn't have to go downtown till rush hour was over and that he only needed to pick up some documents and take them to his client...and the bad news he told me was that I'd have to put up with him for the next 2 days since he didn't have to go to work. Are you kidding me?! That was great news for me! This morning Stephen got a call and was told that he didn't have to go downtown today...YAY, even better news! Caisen and I were so happy to spend all day today with daddy. We went shopping for clothes, hooray! We went to the new Burlington Coat Factory and that was great.

Anyway, here is a video of Caisen talking today. We put him down for a nap and heard him talking through the monitor. It was way too cute. When you watch some videos of Caisen you'll have to excuse me talking about nana and papa but we upload these to youtube for my parents and family in Hawaii to see Caisen grow. Enjoy!

Here is another video of Caisen talking as well. This was last night. TOO CUTE!

Video of Caisen

This was Caisen fussing last night and then totally being a ham in front of the camera. It was really funny to us, so you'll have to bare with us when you watch him.

Teething?

So for the past month and a half Caisen has been drooling a ton. These past few days for him have been really rough and he's been biting down on everything, including me! He hasn't slept through the night since last week, and he needs Stephen or I to calm him down and put him to sleep everytime he's tired. I think that he's actually starting to teethe and he's not quite 4 months yet either. Anyway, so tonight I wanted to take some recent pictures of him, so I did. The funny thing was that he was fussing and crying, but as soon as I took the camera out and started to take a picture of him, he stopped crying. He was being a total ham! It was hilarous! Stephen and I even got video of him doing this several times in a row...he's cry, then smile at the camera, then cry, then smile again...it was really funny. Anyway, here are pictures of him...happy and sad.
