Channing Kainalumalienui Futral

It's about time I blog about our newest addition!  Needless to say, our house is very busy now with 3 kids.

So first things first,

It's a boy!

On Sunday August 29th we went to the hospital at 5:30am.  Labor was slow so they broke my water at noon because we waited till my mother in law could be there since she was at stake conference...my father in law was released as Stake President that day.  From noon to 2pm I progressed .5cm so they started "the pit drip" aka pitocin.  Things started progressing again and at 5pm they stopped pitocin so that I could walk around and continue to labor naturally.  Then at 7:30pm I started to push and at 7:43pm he was born!  Stephen was able to catch him and tell me "It's a boy!!!"....that was pretty special to me!  Labor was pretty intense but the delivery was amazing!  I had the BEST labor support there too...my sweet hubby and of course our moms.

Channing Kainalumalienui Futral
7 lbs 9 oz
20.5" long

Since we didn't know his gender while we were pregnant, we had a really hard time deciding on names.  We had a few in mind for both genders but nothing we absolutely loved.  When he was born we were able to select a few names that we liked since we knew he was a boy!  We narrowed our selections down the day we left the hospital and officially started telling family when Channing was 5 days old.  We didn't have his hawaiian middle name till he was just 2 days shy of 2 weeks.  But what the heck, no one goes un-named their whole life so we weren't pressured to name him quickly.

Anyway, here's a few pics of our little man...and all his whiteness!
